A home in Tampere, in the diverse district of Hervanta

Lakea is building a block of flats in Hervanta, Tampere, where you can make the most of living in the city. The location is ideal: close to the city centre but peaceful. To be completed in August 2019, the building will feature studio flats, two-room flats and three-room flats. The building, named Kalliorinne (Rocky Hill), was designed by Sakari Miettunen.

“At Kalliorinne, we will also invest in communal living. The flats have no saunas, but there will be a separate outbuilding that has room for many activities. It will house the housing company’s sauna as well as a residents’ room and a workshop. The housing company may purchase a pool table or sofa set and organise parties or other shared activities,” says Jaana Mäki-Maunus, a real estate salesperson at Lakea.

While Mäki-Maunus predicts that the building will interest students and young families in particular, it is also an interesting opportunity for real estate investors.

“The glazed, protruding balconies serve as extra rooms from early spring to late autumn. And the jogging path starts right at the door,” she describes.

The city district of Hervanta is known for its university campus as well as its diverse recreational opportunities and rugged rocks. There are beautiful green areas in Hervanta, particularly around Kalliorinne. In the future, the tramway will run through Hervanta, making it even easier to get to the city centre and the rest of Tampere.
